          This one-of-a-kind 1968 vintage Ludwig kit tells an unlikely tale of happenstance – and resurrection.<\/p>\n

          It was found peeking out of a countryside dumpster by renowned Swedish drummer Miikal H\u00e4ggstr\u00f6m while on tour. He could not believe his luck. He carefully refurbished it, and quite literally brought this ultra-dead kit back to life.<\/p>\n

          Customized to\u00a0hit harder<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

          Converted into concert toms (without resonant heads), this kit is now a custom-built, meticulously treated thump machine, packing a serious punch and a boatload of mojo.<\/p>\n

          The\u00a0deadest of the dead<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

          To get the perfect punchy sound, you need to control the drum\u2019s ringing and resonance and the room\u2019s reflections. Usually, you would encapsulate the kit with dampening gobo walls, and treat the drum heads with dampening material. But this is no usual kit \u2014 it’s the deadest of the dead.<\/p>\n

          That\u2019s why we built a custom, near-anechoic “dead box” in Stockholm\u2019s legendary Ingrid Studios, encapsulating the kit together with overhead and close mics. This gives you uniquely dead drum sounds, while still allowing you to blend in the outside room mics to taste with unmatched separation.<\/p>\n
