Whilst\u00a0<strong>M-Tron Pro<\/strong>\u00a0continues to focus on the chromatic sounds of the\u00a0<strong>Mellotron M400<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>M-Tron MkII<\/strong>\u00a0is an exclusive library with new and specialist tools for tackling the rhythms and accompaniments, and the unique playing style found in\u00a0<strong>earlier Mellotrons and Chamberlins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Originally conceived as the ultimate\u00a0<strong>Home Entertainment Console<\/strong>, the UK made\u00a0<strong>1963 Mellotron MkI\/MkII<\/strong>\u00a0was a dual manual tape based instrument where the left manual\u2019s 35 notes replayed a combination of 18 Rhythms and Accompaniments (66 on the GForce M-Tron MkII*) and the right manual (also 35 notes) replayed 18 lead sounds (66 on M-Tron MkII*).<\/p>\n<p><strong>M-Tron MkII<\/strong>\u00a0was designed specially for composers and producers who want access to the evocative tones of the original dual manual Chamberlin\u00ae, Mellotron\u00ae MkI &amp; MkII instruments with\u00a0<strong>special emphasis on the Rhythms and Accompaniments<\/strong>\u00a0which capture\u00a0<strong>a moment in time between the 1950\u2019s and late 1960\u2019s.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-bp1-12 col-bp3-9 col-bp5-6\">\n<h3 class=\"title title--divider-regular\">RETUNE, HOST SYNC AND CREATE A FUSION OF HYBRID RHYTHMS AND ACCOMPANIMENTS<i class=\"icon icon--divider\"><\/i><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-bp1-12 col-bp3-9 col-bp5-6\">\n<p>Under each key of the original MkII was over 40 feet of magnetic tape. At the press of a button, a scrolling mechanism would move that tape so that one of six different sections could be replayed. These sections are referred to as\u00a0<strong>\u2018Stations\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0and each conformed to a specific style, musical key and tempo. Obviously, it was impossible on the original to mix and match Rhythms and\/or Accompaniments from different Stations.<\/p>\n<p>On the\u00a0<strong>M-Tron MkII<\/strong>, they\u2019ve kept this methodology, but added ways where <strong>Rhythms and Accompaniments<\/strong>\u00a0from different Stations can be\u00a0<strong>mixed and matched<\/strong>, vastly increasing the possible permutations and flexibility of the instrument.\u00a0<strong>M-Tron MkII<\/strong>\u00a0also offers the ability to\u00a0<strong>retune<\/strong>\u00a0an entire bank while maintaining the host tempo.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more,\u00a0<strong>M-Tron MkII<\/strong> features a Dual Rhythm Mode where you can layer two Rhythms and Accompaniments from the Chamberlin and Melly MkI &amp; II to create a fusion of hybrid rhythms and motifs. they\u2019ve also taken care not to iron out the character of the original tapes so the contrast between US and UK recordings is a joy to behold\u2026 warts and all.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-bp1-12 col-bp3-9 col-bp5-6\">\n<h3 class=\"title title--divider-regular\">EVOLVED, EVOCATIVE AND BEAUTIFULLY IMPERFECT<i class=\"icon icon--divider\"><\/i><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-bp1-12 col-bp3-9 col-bp5-6\">\n<p>King Hussein of Jordan, Princess Margaret &amp; L Ron Hubbard bought into the MkII\u2019s Home Entertainment concept. But in much the same way as a younger generation reshaped music using Roland TB-303\u2019s &amp; TR-909\u2019s in fresh and imaginative ways, so too did\u00a0<strong>The Beatles<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>The Moody Blues<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>King Crimson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Genesis<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>The Rolling Stones<\/strong>, who catapulted its magnificently grainy tones into the public consciousness via\u00a0<strong>Strawberry Fields Forever<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>The Court Of The Crimson King<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Watcher of the Skies<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nights In White Satin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>2000 Light Years From Home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All the sounds on the\u00a0<strong>GForce M-Tron MkII<\/strong>\u00a0are sourced from the\u00a0<strong>MKI, MKII and Chamberlin Tape Archive curated by Martin Smith<\/strong>\u00a0who prepared the recordings for this project.
